This is a collectible Civil War era Norwich 1861 musket chambered for 58 caliber black powder projectiles. It features a 40-inch barrel, percussion ignition system, steel ramrod, folding rear sight, sling swivels, wood stock. Overall, this musket is in good vintage condition with normal age-related finish wear throughout the barrel, stock, and lock. The rear barrel band is loose and the tang screw appears to be a replacement. The lock has an 1863 date and the stock features a cartouche with inspector stamp.
